How often should we be washing our hair?
This answer will be so different for every single hair dresser/person out there because we all have different scalps!
So the decision about how frequently to wash hair depends on a person's hair type, scalp texture, how oily the hair gets, and personal preference.
Is there a right or wrong number to washing your hair? Honestly I think it’s up to you, however I don’t think washing it every day would be good as your hair will be working overtime to try and produce your scalps natural oils which helps to moisturise your scalp, because shampoo removes these oils, (the hair gets its oil from sebaceous glands that secrete oil called sebum) which keeps the hair and scalp moisturised.
For most people, shampooing the hair is not necessary for “good” hair health it’s just preference. However Just rinsing the hair with water a few times a week will remove most visible dirt and debris. The decision about how frequently to wash the hair is a cosmetic one based on personal preference.
People undergoing hormonal changes, may also find that their hair gets oilier than usual.
To stop your hair from getting greasy or if you're trying to stretch your washes out make sure that you’re doing TWO shampoos & putting conditioner from the mid lengths down.
ALWAYS dry off your hair (or even just the roots) this will stop it from appearing greasy.
if you can buy you hair product at a super market, chemist etc it will be lower quality and can cause serious chemical reactions when you colour your hair.
